It was a great experience 4 me to join the run for the first time in my life. I signed up about 2 months back and have been training for 2 times in Yio chu Kang Stadium with my colleagues (Colin and Jerryl). 1st practice was quite average where i only managed to run 2.4 Km (6 laps), 2nd practice was slightly better where I did 4km (10 laps). I was quite nervous yet excited for the 24th August 2008, I was targeting to finish the 6km Fun Run in 1 hour time.

On the day itself, Me, Jerryl (Colleague), Yoppy and Tian-tian planned to have brekky @ 6.30pm. We managed to meet in the Cityhall MRT and went to McDonald to have breakfast.

The run was quite fun, becoz lots and lots of people run together with you.
Thank God for good stamina, we managed to finish in about 45 mins time.

Sunday morning, 20th July ’08, we went to visit Hope Kuching. It was a good catch-up with Bro and sis there. Then in the afternoon, we went out with my sis and bro-in-law, hunt for food.

Monday morning, my sis took 1/2 day leave to accompany us and sent us to bus station. we had a sarawak laksa for breakfast (yummy…!!!). then we went to buy some food for our lunch. Bus journey was very interesting for Lydia, it’s first time for her to take long bus ride(8 hours). The toilet in the bus was horrible, many small insects and other stuff. in indo 90% toilets are squat style, it’s very inconvenient, even for me who use that since young. 7.30pm we reached the place, My dad and younger sis was waiting at the pick up point. it was raining….my mom was at home waiting and cooking for the welcome home dinner celebration. Amazing home cook food….

we spent five days in pontianak,Indo enjoying ourselves with the family, we ate lots and lots of food and fruits… on thursday we went to my grandparent’s place to celebrate my grandpa’s bday. It was a great time spent with uncles/aunties and other relatives. 

Friday afternoon, our flight was delayed 3 1/2 hours, reached batam about 9pm, my uncle picked us up and we managed to catch the last ferry back to Singapore. Thank God for the trip….

I haven’t been teaching for quite some time, hopefully I could prepare well…

I attended the Hope Singapore Adult CAMP for my very first time in Early June,
Despite of busy work schedule, I managed to have my leave approved, Praise God.
It was really amazing experiece in the camp, some great things are:
1. Great teaching ( CG church)
    Really thank God for the divide lesson for me and my group as I was about to take care of a new group
    (JEDI 2) and many lessons that open/re-open my eyes of how a caregrp suppose to be.
2. Great fellowship
    It was a different experience with my previous camp in other hope churches, I could feel the great love
    and care among the people expecially in JEDI group. I had a great time with my Caregroup member -
    covenant thing and really was a very encouraging experience.
3. Great experience
    It was my first time experiencing the gift of tongue and interpretation of it….really God is good.
    I really hope to see it in my CG in the future…

It was a bit tiring, because of many activities and also late worship practices, but it was fun and i praise God for it. it was like in the Mount Sinai….with God,  hehehe…..

many many things that even if I mention it in here, you’ll not able to understand unless you go and see it for yourself… I will definitely go again in the future….

I really learned something ‘not new’ but great principle called ’Do Not Complain’
A not so pretty picture of Indonesia’s Airport with a poor condition and lack of maintenance.
I encountered people smokin’ in the non-smoking area, the AC room smells, no facilities, need to pay airport taxes, poor signs, unacceptable transit vehicle between terminal and the list just go on…and on.
My head was just full of discontentment, after a long obeservation and pondering of how bad the situation was, somehow God just reminded me to give thanks in all occassions.
At first i couldn’t really get it but slowly i understand that it’s not about comparison between airports or countries but it’s about gratitute and gladness in my heart towards what God’s has blessed me with.

overall, it was a very fruitful and encouraging trip….

Hybels confesses:

We made a mistake. What we should have done when people crossed the line of faith and become Christians, we should have started telling people and teaching people that they have to take responsibility to become ‘self feeders.’ We should have gotten people, taught people, how to read their bible between service, how to do the spiritual practices much more aggressively on their own.

In other words, spiritual growth doesn’t happen best by becoming dependent on elaborate church programs but through the age old spiritual practices of prayer, bible reading, and relationships. And, ironically, these basic disciplines do not require multi-million dollar facilities and hundreds of staff to manage.

It’s a very mind-blowing statement for me…..anyway
super tuesday because:

1. My ONT project rolled out successfully
2. I had a great teaching from Michael in CLC(Care Leader Course) 2
3. I am encouraged by the content of the blog i read

look foward for greater wednesday……..

My plan in work place today was to prepare migration for my new ‘FTTH’(Fibre TO hOme) project
everything seemed fine till 5:30pm, I encountered that my script got some mistakes…..
fix here…fix there…with my other colleague…till 9pm plus….
then I decided to write this blog….then go home for rest….
anyway I praise God for ‘monday’ …..
